Goodspace · Case study

Two roles.
Twelve products.
One platform shift.

A product design and product management case study on turning Goodspace from a hirer-only recruiting tool into a two-sided premium platform — from research, flows, and UX to shipped product.

The brief

From a single-sided hirer tool to a two-sided premium platform.

I joined Goodspace as a Product Designer and moved into a Product Manager role partway through. The brief: design a real premium suite for job seekers, redesign the hirer flows for usability and conversion, and set up the product portfolio so a paid two-sided platform could actually work.

Two phases
Product Designer

End-to-end UX and UI across 12 products. Flow graphs, screen design, a shared component library, full Job Seeker dashboard redesign, and a 50+ issue UX audit turned into a prioritised fix list.

Product Manager

Product thinking across 12+ surfaces — scoping the bare minimum, competitive research, plans, launch calls, and bug-pass ownership. Shaping what the team builds so shipped products match what was designed.

01Shipped

Resume Builder

An end-to-end resume product — landing page, parsing, editor, five templates, and credit-based billing. Replaced a legacy card on the products page that had no real product behind it.

  • Benchmarked against the leading resume tools to scope what a first version needed to feel credible
  • Designed the parsing-first flow so users never retype details already on their PDF
  • Drove template direction — chose five distinct styles to cover the spectrum from minimalist to modern
  • Owned the billing model and integrated the product into the unified premium subscription
02Shipped

Cover Letter Generator

AI-generated cover letters from a job description, with editable templates and PDF / Word export. Replaced a 'Cover Letter' card that, like Resume Builder, had no real product behind it.

03Shipped

AI Mock Interview

A real-time, voice-driven mock interview product. Replaced an 'AI Mock Interview' card on the products page that had nothing wired up behind it.

  • Scoped what a minimum-viable voice interview needed — realtime response, transcript, and a clear end state
  • Mapped the user journey from landing page through session to 'under review' status
  • Drove the bug-pass personally — sat with the product end-to-end until the failure modes surfaced
  • Made the explicit call to hide Lumi (the AI assistant) during an active interview so it couldn't feed answers
04Shipped

Goodspace Accelerate

A brand-new career service built from the ground up — four service levels, with Placement Assistance as the entry (Level 0) tier and progressively deeper career coaching, onboarding, and guarantees above it.

Goodspace Premium Hub

Goodspace Plus (a single ₹1,499 plan with ₹2,390 of products) was rebranded and restructured into Goodspace Premium: two tiers, Pro at ₹999 (₹3,474 of products) and Gold at ₹2,499 (₹12,422 of products). Two price points to serve two audiences, and a much stronger value proposition at each.

Lumi (AI Career Counsellor)

The in-product AI assistant for job seekers, integrated into the Job Seeker Dashboard.

  • Persistent sidebar with streaming responses and in-chat job cards
  • Two-column full-screen layout with a floating panel toggle from the navbar
  • Scoped conversations per user — concurrent sessions stay cleanly isolated
  • Hidden on interview pages by design, to prevent answer-feeding mid-assessment

Refer & Earn

A referral program with tracked links, an earnings dashboard, and a click-tracking pipeline.

Hirer side · 4 workflow revamps

The hirer flows, rebuilt

Manage Jobs and Post a Job were the two largest hirer-side redesigns — the surfaces where recruiters spend most of their time and where usability gains translate directly into conversion.

AManage Jobs V2

Three-level cascading scroll, mobile-responsive, extracted into reusable sections

The old Manage Jobs page was a single monolithic view that didn't scale to large applicant pools and didn't work on mobile. I introduced a three-level cascading scroll model so hirers could navigate applications, evaluation tabs, and quick-nav simultaneously without losing context, broke the page into reusable evaluation/notes/resume/transcript sections, and made the whole thing responsive down to mobile and tablet.

BPost a Job V35-step flow

Two ways to post: paste a JD, or build one step-by-step

The old "Setup AI Recruiter" flow was a single page with every field stacked vertically. The redesign introduces two paths: a new AI-first flow where the hirer pastes a JD and the AI extracts everything automatically, and a revamped manual flow for hirers who prefer to build the posting field-by-field. Both paths converge at a shared review and publish step.

Post a Job · Old single form vs new step 1 (paste JD)

Path A — AI-first: Paste JD, AI extracts everything
Path B — Manual: Build the posting field-by-field

CJob cardsCard-only redesign

Hirer Dashboard — job cards

The dashboard structure was kept intact but the job cards themselves were redesigned for faster scanning and a cleaner status hierarchy.

Job seeker side · 8 surfaces

The Job Seeker Dashboard, three tiers

The dashboard was redesigned end-to-end. Free users got a refreshed experience; Pro and Gold tiers got net-new premium dashboards with credit visibility, product access, and the upgrade-to-Lumi flow.

Dashboard surfaces — before / after

Every primary surface of the dashboard was redesigned. Below: home, applications, jobs, interviews and the products surface, paired with their old equivalents.

Dashboard · Home

Dashboard · Applications

Dashboard · Jobs. The standalone Job Detail page was retired and merged into this view.

Dashboard · Interviews

Dashboard · Products. The old surface had Resume Builder, Cover Letter, and AI Mock Interview as clickable cards — but no real products behind them.

New surfaces (no old equivalent)

Saved Jobs, Embedded Pages, the Products Drawer, and the four Products Banner variants are net-new on the redesigned dashboard.

Products banner — four sizes

A reusable promotional banner with four responsive sizes for placement across dashboard, modal, and email surfaces.

Mobile parity

Every dashboard surface ships with a tuned mobile layout. The old captures below show how the v1 mobile experience looked.

Hirer acquisition · 6 new pages

A funnel that you can actually measure

In parallel with the premium product launches, I drove a deliberate push on hirer acquisition. Six new or fully redesigned hirer-facing pages — landing, pricing, and the SEO sitelinks — plus a clear view of the funnel so the team could read it together and improve it week over week.

SEO sitelinks — How It Works · Why Goodspace · FAQ · Pricing

Four SEO-targeted deep-dive pages that surface as Google sitelinks beneath the main Goodspace result for branded and category queries.

Process · Components · Flows

Designed in Figma, shipped to production

The work for every product started as a flow graph and a component library in Figma. Below: the components page for the job seeker side, plus the eight prototype graphs that powered the rebuilds.

Each of the major rebuilds started as a flow graph in Figma. Each graph below is a screenshot of the working file in prototype mode — every connection is a click-through.

Outcomes

The headline numbers

Strategic outcome: Goodspace went from a single-sided hirer recruiting tool to a two-sided premium platform with a paid job-seeker product portfolio, an instrumented hirer acquisition funnel, and a foundation (observability, payments, audio, analytics) ready to support the next wave of products without re-platforming.

Theme 1
From single-sided to two-sided

Previously, Goodspace was primarily a hirer recruitment platform with a thin candidate surface. Now, the candidate side has its own premium product hub with five paid products and a credit-based billing system.

Theme 2
Acquisition as a first-class concern

A redesigned landing page, a clear pricing page, and four SEO-targeted deep-dive pages for branded search — combined with a simpler hirer top nav — turned hirer acquisition from an afterthought into a surface the team actively improves.

Theme 3
Product thinking before code

Every major launch started as competitive research, a flow graph, and a Figma prototype. Engineers got a clear brief — scope, MVP, edge cases — which kept shipped products close to what was designed.
